House has been treading water since season 1 IMHO. I liked the idea of it so purchased season 1 on DVD and absolutely loved the first few episodes. Then it dawned on me that “patient comes in with mystery illness, they try something, it makes him worse, they try something else it helps but doesn’t cure, they try something else, it makes him worse, he almost dies but just in time Dr House comes up with the answer and saves him” episode-after-episode can be a little tedious.
I could see a grumpy Dr Poncho with a cane though. Until Boomer started chewing on it, of course.

On a related note, Hugh Laurie is a delightful guest on Craig Ferguson. Funny as you know what and clever. Very intelligent but kinda mellow and just all around fun. Love him.

Whatever could the boys be operating on in this panel? Hmmmm. . . . stumped.
We tried to watch House a few seasons ago and it was something that we just couldn’t get into. I think the fact that my wife works in a hospital and scrutinizes all the procedures doesn’t help. NCIS is about the only show we watch constantly.
I’ll miss tomdog’s posts.

We watched House the first few seasons and I think it started to clash with American Idol
and we stopped.
I’m always amazed how British ppl can speak without their accent. I’d never have known ever and to hear him speak in his native tongue, so to speak is amaaazing.
Oh Bob, I’ll bet your wife goes nuts with that kind of stuff. My husband and I have that in our respective fields as well whenever we see a tv show or movie.
So…what’s your vote? Pick anything. Let’s face it…Paul’s imagination runs the gamet. It could even be the mailman’s bag as they sabotage it with firecrackers or something like that.

Lulu, I like all your ideas. If it was an earlier strip, I’d have guessed a cat hairball. Though my first thought was also Plankie, maybe Poncho is trying to break into a bag of Kibbles?

Oh my gosh yes! A bag of kibble is perfection.
I was trying to think of all of these wild things but without thumbs 99% of the time
, opening that bag would be very difficult.

Oh, and Smiffy, I don’t think the hose is oxygen. I think they are operating on the vacuum cleaner bag, and they have to be very careful in the operation, so they pick out only the GOOD stuff. They might be using the vacuum hose as a suction device to suck away the crappy stuff, just like in a real operation!

They are using the vacuum to dispense of the DIRT and CAT HAIR. They must get to the good stuff without the CAT CRAP. LOL.

The suctioning something IS the vacuum! And to Smiffy: the air hose is the one on the left, the vacuum hose is on the right. Look what its attached to The thing on the table is the vacuum bag they are operating on! And if I’m wrong, Paul needs drawing lessons. Lol. Just kidding. Love ya Paul!

, I guessed the suction further down when I said “liposuction”. I meant the tubes are for suctioning something from whatever they are operating on. Perhaps Miss Droolia is going to emerge all svelte and curvy and her name will have a whole different meaning.

I think they are sucking out the crappy cat hair and hair balls (with the hose on the right attached to the canister) in order to get to the good stuff in the bag.Just like a real surgeon uses suction to suck away dead tissue or blood or whatever.
Now I’m DYING to find out! I hope we don’t have to wait long!

I was a big fan of Dallas. Unfortunately, that was a jump the shark point in the show and I didn’t watch after that.
It will only be 38 days until spring when we find out the answer.

I believe myself, Bob and Sandy are the winners as I guessed vacuum cleaner and Bob guessed Kibble and Sandy said they were trying to extract something of value. I believe there are prizes involved so we’ll just have to wait until Paul returns to find out what we’ve won.
And Sandy, before you fight with me that they actually were operating on the bag, which you guessed, you would be wrong (I know how you hate that!
)bc the entire vacuum cleaner is on the table, not only the bag, even though the bag is inside, if in fact this kind of cleaner HAS a bag.
