Summer Strip Sale!

By Paul | June 22, 2013

Want to own your very own Pooch Cafe original?  Now’s the time to act.  All dailies are on sale for the Pooch-erific price of only $70, which includes postage and personal signature signed to your specifications.  Details about the strips are here.  Below, apropos of nothing, is a strip.

If you’re interested in any strips let me know and I’ll check “the archive” (a fancy name for the large pile of strips in my faux armoire) to see if it’s in my possession.  The strips tell me they much prefer to be hanging on the walls of fans.  They also tell me not to eat peanut butter while handling them.  Don’t take this as a sign that they’re cantankerous, each and every one of them is sweet as a button.

I just acquired one of my all time favorite strips. It’s the one when Poncho was a lil pup and he took the family portrait with his mom and siblings. It’s a beauty, a masterpiece, I tell ya’! You can see all the lines up close. You can see where Paul changed his mind and went in another direction and of course they are all personalized.

When I saw my over-sized envelope arrive in the mail, I felt like a kid on Christmas AND Paul may surprise you and draw a little gift on the outside of the envelope too. ;-)

My family and friends are just blown away by the fact we can buy this original art. I love mine. If I ever win the lottery, there will be no more strips left to purchase from Mr. Gilligan as I plan to buy the whole collection! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

What a great deal! I highly encourage anyone who dos or doesn’t own a Pooch original (which I find hard to believe) to take advantage of this. I need to see which ones I would like to order.

Lulu, when you win the lottery, please don’t hire Paul to be your personal cartoonist and take him away from the rest of us.

Also, Paul, happy St Jean Baptiste Day. My 8th great grandparents were some of the first settlers of Lachine and my 8th great grandmother was a Filles du Roi. They were captured in the Iroquis attack of 1689.

Thanks for the props, A and M. Looking forward to you winning the lottery now, A. M: sorry to hear about your great great great great great great great grandparents. What a time to be alive! Happy SJB Day to you too.

I also have some great originals.
However, this is unrelated, but didn’t know where to post..
In todays New York Daily News, a pleasant surprise… A Pooch Café Strip!!!! This is where I originally got hooked on the little fellow and was devastated when they dropped the strip. It says that Red and Rover is on vacation until August 19. Enjoy Pooch Café until Red and Rover returns…It is not todays strip…don’t know if they are just putting in older strips to cover…does it mean the possible return of Pooch Café to the news? Inquiring minds need to know Paul. Thanks

Thanks for the interesting news, NinaG. I hadn’t heard anything about that, but from the sounds of it they’re just letting Pooch fill in for a bit. I guess it means at least somebody on the News staff missed Pooch in their pages. Wish I was still in there! What happened in the strip you saw? Wondering how old the strip was that they ran.

    Hi Paul,
There have been 4 strips so far:
Carmen says your dogs stuck in a tree again..ladder or crowbar? Crowbar..Poncho’s head in a hole in the tree.
Devil and Angel both telling Poncho to eat the catfood. Poncho says inner conflict is for saps.
Ponchos owner filling his bowl…Boomer says you secretyly swapped your bowl for slightly larger bowls a mm at a time over years? Genius..Poncho says a genius would have known when to stop.
Todays was Hudson waiting on the stoop for the paper and the truck goes by. His owner is reding it on a tablet. Hudson says digital newspapers taking away our jobs. Boomer says be thankful they don’t have digital slippers yet.
Red and Rover is on vacation until August 19, so we can enjoy double doses of Poncho in the news and online until then!
I didn’t know they could put your comic in without you knowing about it…

Thanks for the run-down, NinaG! Those aren’t from too long ago. They would have informed my syndicate about it and it’ll show on my statement next month. Great to be in NYC again however briefly!
