Windows Icons
To change a folder icon in Windows (XP or Vista)
- Un-zip the icon after downloading it (a .ico file).
- Right click on the desired folder and select “properties”
- Click on the “customize” tab.
- Click on the “change icon” button under the Folder Icons section near the bottom of this tab.
- Click “browse” and navigate to where the unzipped icon is on your computer.
- Click “open” after selecting the file and then click ok on the screens you have open.
- The icon should now be changed.
Mac Icons
To change a folder icon in Mac OS
- Un-zip the icon after downloading it (a .jpg file).
- Right click on the desired folder and select “get info”
- Copy the image you unzipped by pressing apple + c on your keyboard.
- Click on the folder icon in the upper left of the info window you just opened.
- Paste the image by pressing apple + v.
- The icon should now be changed.
